I'm not very experienced in this area, but One of the computers at my workplace, when starting outlook, will say "verifying data integrity" on start up very frequently and will take hours to complete. I have been searching around a little while to see what kind of answer I can find to this problem. First here are some details about his mailbox.
I think he should put his entire inbox online, if possible, and then delete every trace of Microsoft Outlook 2010 and his email on the computer. And then reinstall Outlook and fetch his email back. Email that's at Microsoft isn't stored as files - at least I REALLY don't think so - but database entries. By redownloading his mail, the files in which his messages are should be created anew.
Fix Outlook 2010 Stuck on Verifying Data Integrity Error in Outlook OST Files
"Outlook stuck on verifying data" is one of the common issues that you may face when starting up your Outlook application. Depending on the cause of the error, you may encounter this while closing or launching the Outlook application.
There is no single solution to fix this problem because it is caused by a variety of factors. You can, however, fix it based on the scenario you encountered. The information in this article will assist you in determining the scenario when Outlook is stuck on verifying data integrity.
It is advised to create a backup of the OST file even before attempting to resolve the Outlook verifying data integrity error, since it is mostly related to an OST file. You can utilize this backup of your Outlook data if you frequently end up corrupting the OST file while seeking to fix errors. Remo Outlook Backup and Migrate tool is the ideal way for you to create a backup of the OST file.
Now that you've created a backup, let's figure out how to fix the issue by disabling Outlook's verifying data integrity feature. First, determine if you encountered the issue while closing the Outlook application or while using Outlook.
If your Outlook is stuck at verifying data while using or quitting the application, it is most probably due to damaged or malfunctioning add-ins. If add-ins are not the cause then it could be the result of an unstable internet connection.
If Outlook is stuck on verifying data integrity due to malfunctioning Add-ins, you will observe that Outlook does not close until all the Outlook-related processes are terminated. To do that you need to force quit all the running Outlook-related processes.
Once the OST file has been converted and a backup made, you can now remove and reinstall the Outlook application. The error-free PST file should be used to export Outlook attributes and sync them with the Online server. Since Outlook has been reinstalled and a fresh backup file has been created, there shouldn't be any opportunity to verify Outlook for data integrity errors.
Does the person have PST files attached to their profile? If so, try removing them from the profile (Control Panel -> Mail -> Profiles -> Select the profile in question -> go to Account Settings and remove PST file). Often times when Outlook closes unexpectedly, there is a data integrity check done on all PST files once you open the application, which slows things down until it completes.
The OST Integrity Check Tool (scanost.exe) is not included in Outlook 2010 and later versions. This tool was recommended in earlier versions to fix errors in Outlook data files (.ost). If there is an issue with a specific folder, you can resync the folder in Outlook. To do this, follow these steps:
If you have problems when you try to open your .ost file, you can use the Inbox Repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in your .ost file. The Inbox Repair tool can be used on both .ost files and on Personal Folders (.pst) files. The Inbox Repair tool scans the .ost or .pst file and makes sure that the file structure is intact. The tool also tries to repair the internal data structures, if it is necessary. The tool does not interact with your mailbox on the Exchange Server.
First off, I'm using Exchange 2007 and the user has Outlook 2010 installed on a Windows 7 32 bit machine. When the user opens outlook, the Data File Check in Progress gears show up in the bottom toolbar, and Outlook becomes unstable and eventually unresponsive. I suspect the issue is that they have a 5 GB ost file and Outlook is having trouble reading the whole thing and fixing any errors. I'm trying to figure out how to cancel the data file check. I've set the user up on a different Win7 machine and Outlook loaded the .ost fine so I'm not worried about a corrupted profile. I've tried running Outlook in safe mode, removing and readding the mail profile, manually replacing the ost with the file from the other machine, even removing office 2010 and reinstalling but nothing seems to clear whatever is telling Outlook to perform a data file check. Is there any way to get the file check to stop, or does anybody know how to stop it from crashing Outlook? Let me know if you need any more information and I'll gladly provide it. Thanks for any help.
Did you try deleting the outlook folder from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook or delete all the files within that directory? and start outlook so it redownload the data from exchange?

Use mail merge tool to attach individual attachments to emails. By default these end up in the outbox with a delay of 3 minutes. I am using a gmail account set-up as an account in outlook. The mail correctly end-up in the outbox and I can see they have a delay set of 3 minuts. They are not being sent after the three minutes and stay stuck in outbox even if I remove the delay. It only gets solved if I copy the mails to draft folder and from there remove the delay, followed by send. If I create in same gmail account an email with delay myself it works ok.So what is wrong.
